What Is Osteopathy?
The osteopathy is a system of therapy founded in the 19th century Osteopathy ( or osteopatia in spanish)is based on the concept that the body can formulate its own remedies against diseases when the body is in a normal structural relationship, has a normal environment and enjoys good nutrition. The practice of osteopathy often includes chiropractic-like adjustments of skeletal structures. Craniosacral therapy, a practice in which the bones and tissues of the head and neck are manipulated, also arose in osteopathy. Osteopaths ( or osteopatas in spanish) are osteopathic physician who are Doctors of Osteopathy (D.O.). complete a course of study equivalent to that of an MD at an osteopathic medical school and are trained in the awareness of the effects of body mechanics on health and disease processes. Osteopaths have a license to practice medicine and may undergo medical specialty training.
